Work Experience Week: Exploring Architecture and Structural Engineering

This week, we were delighted to welcome Eli to the team for his work experience placement, giving him the opportunity to gain first hand insight into the world of architecture and structural engineering.

As the son of our Director and Owner, Jason Pledger, Eli spent the week discovering what his dad gets up to on a day-to-day basis while also learning more about the exciting work carried out by our Architectural Design and structural engineering by our sister company, Form Consulting.

Throughout the week, Eli attended site visits alongside Jason and our Associate Director, James Vivian, gaining valuable exposure to the practical side of the industry. These visits provided an opportunity to see how projects develop on site and how architects and structural engineers work closely with clients, contractors and project teams to deliver successful outcomes.

From observing project discussions and site assessments to learning about design processes and engineering solutions, Eli experienced a broad introduction to the built environment sector and the many career opportunities it offers.

Supporting young people as they explore future career paths is something we are passionate about, and it has been fantastic to see Eli’s enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to learn throughout the week.

We would like to thank Eli for his hard work and positive attitude during his placement. We hope the experience has provided valuable knowledge, confidence and inspiration for the future.
