Consent Secured for Amendments to Housing Scheme in Gweek

Consent Secured for Amendments to Housing Scheme in Gweek

At Laurence Associates, we know that successful planning is about more than securing consent. It is about identifying opportunities to streamline the process, reduce costs and keep projects moving forward.

We are pleased to have secured planning permission for amendments to a consented residential development of three new homes in Gweek through a Section 73 application.

The principal change involved replacing a pitched roof with a flat roof terrace, while also incorporating several smaller design amendments requested by our client. By bringing all of these changes together within a single application, we were able to provide a more efficient route to achieving the desired outcome.

During the process, we also identified that a number of conditions attached to the original planning permission still required discharge. Rather than waiting for a separate application at a later stage, we advised our client to submit the necessary information alongside the amendment application.

This proactive approach helped save both time and cost, reducing the risk of delays once construction progresses on site.

The application was successfully approved, with only compliance conditions included on the decision notice, providing a straightforward path towards delivery.

This project highlights the value of receiving the right planning advice at the right time. By considering the wider picture, we were able to help our client achieve a practical, efficient outcome while supporting the delivery of much needed new homes in Cornwall.
