A Sensitive Cottage Renovation Near St Austell
We’re taking a first look at one of our recently completed projects, with more details to be revealed soon.
Set within the former china clay landscape to the northwest of St Austell, this project involved the sensitive renovation and reinstatement of a collection of long neglected cottages and associated buildings.
The project combines the existing stone and slate buildings with carefully considered contemporary elements, including glass, zinc and dark timber cladding. Large areas of glazing also help to connect the interiors with the extensive surrounding views.
The balance between old and new was an important part of the design, creating a home that acknowledges the site’s history while responding to modern living.
