Successful Appeal Secured on Caravan Use and Building Definition

Laurence Associates has successfully secured another planning appeal, resulting in the quashing of an enforcement notice relating to the change of use of land from agricultural to residential.

This case required a clear and robust strategy, combining detailed evidence with a strong understanding of planning policy and case law. Drawing on our in-house expertise, we were able to present a well-structured argument that addressed the key issues and challenged the basis of the enforcement action.

A central aspect of the appeal was demonstrating that the caravan on site should be considered a building in planning terms, based on its permanence and physical characteristics. This formed a critical part of the overall case and was supported by relevant appeal decisions and legal precedent.

The Planning Inspector agreed with our position, allowing the appeal and quashing the enforcement notice.
