Unlocking Potential Through Replacement

We recently received conditional planning permission for the demolition of an existing bungalow of limited visual interest, replacing it with a high quality, energy efficient home that responds positively to its setting.

The proposed dwelling makes use of local, traditional materials including white render, slate, and timber cladding, alongside a slate roof. This ensures the new home sits comfortably within its surroundings while offering a significant upgrade in both appearance and performance.

By working with the existing footprint and retaining established access arrangements, the scheme remains grounded in the site’s context, while making far better use of the available space. The design also responds carefully to the site’s natural slope and includes thoughtful positioning of openings to protect neighbouring amenity.

The introduction of new planting and well-designed outdoor spaces represent a clear improvement over the existing arrangement, enhancing both usability and visual quality.

Importantly, the replacement dwelling will meet modern building standards, deliver improved energy efficiency and incorporate features such as solar panels. This not only reduces environmental impact but also ensures a longer lasting, more sustainable home.
