Laurence Associates Attends Cornwall Council Planning Agents Forum

Laurence Associates recently attended the Planning Agents Forum hosted by Cornwall Council, which brought together planning professionals and Council officers from across the county.

The event provided a collaborative environment for discussion between agents and officers, with a focus on current and future validation requirements within Cornwall. Proposed changes to mapping procedures and planning processes were also discussed, helping provide greater clarity on how applications may be managed moving forward.

Throughout the forum, attendees were encouraged to participate in table discussions and interactive activities designed to strengthen communication between planning consultants and Council representatives. These conversations offered valuable opportunities to exchange feedback, discuss practical challenges and explore ways to improve collaboration across the planning system.

An update on Development Management performance across the county was also shared, offering useful insight into the current position of planning within Cornwall and the Council’s ongoing priorities.

The event additionally created excellent networking opportunities, allowing face to face discussions with officers, group leaders and the Head of Planning. These conversations helped strengthen both existing and new professional relationships, while also providing an opportunity to discuss ongoing applications and wider planning matters.

Laurence Associates greatly valued the opportunity to attend and contribute to these discussions. We look forward to continuing collaborative engagement that supports the future development of planning within Cornwall.
