Permission in Principle secured for 4 to 6 new homes near Redruth

We’re pleased to have secured Permission in Principle for a scheme of between 4 and 6 new dwellings near Redruth, demonstrating the potential for appropriate housing development on a site outside the defined settlement boundary.

A suitable rounding off opportunity

Our planning team made the case that the site represented a suitable rounding off opportunity and that its location provided reasonable access to a wide range of facilities and services via public transport.

While the site sits outside the settlement boundary identified within the Redruth Neighbourhood Plan, the proposal was positively received by Redruth Town Council, which unanimously voted to support the application.

The Planning Officer subsequently confirmed that the principle of development was acceptable and the application was approved.

A cost-effective approach for our client

Permission in Principle provided our client with a cost-effective way to establish whether the council would support the principle of future development on the site before progressing into more detailed design and planning work.

This approach can provide valuable clarity at an early stage, helping landowners understand the development potential of a site and inform decisions about the next steps.

Looking ahead

Following the successful decision, our planning and design teams are now discussing the next stage of the project with our client.

We’re looking forward to progressing the scheme and exploring how the site can contribute to the delivery of much needed new housing near Redruth.

Thinking about the development potential of your site? Our planning team can help you explore the most appropriate route forward.
