A Guide to Our Planning Application Process

Navigating the planning application process can often feel complex, time consuming and uncertain. At Laurence Associates, we aim to remove that complexity by managing every stage on your behalf, providing clear guidance and professional support from start to finish.

A Structured and Supportive Approach

Once instructed, our team takes a proactive role in progressing your application. We begin by reviewing the local authority’s validation requirements to ensure your submission is complete, compliant and robust from the outset. This early attention to detail helps avoid unnecessary delays later in the process.

We also advise on any specialist surveys that may be required, such as ecology, flood risk, transport or energy assessments. Where needed, we coordinate these through our trusted network of consultants, managing the process and maintaining communication to keep everything on track.

Collaborative Design Development

A successful planning application relies on well considered design. We work closely with your architect to review and refine proposals, ensuring the plans align with planning policy and local guidance.

Alongside this, we prepare a comprehensive Design, Accessibility and Planning Appraisal. This document plays a key role in supporting your application, clearly setting out how the proposal complies with national and local planning policies and why it should be approved.

Managing the Submission and Consultation Process

We take care of completing all application forms, certificates and supporting documents before submitting everything through the planning portal.

Once submitted, we continue to act on your behalf by liaising directly with the case officer. This includes reviewing feedback from technical consultees and members of the public, responding where necessary and helping to address any concerns that arise.

Where required, we can also attend and present your proposal at parish council meetings or planning committee, ensuring your scheme is professionally represented.

Guidance Beyond the Decision

Our support does not end once a decision has been made. We will advise you on the outcome and the most effective next steps, whether that involves discharging planning conditions, making amendments or planning the next phase of your project.

A Clearer Way to Navigate Planning

Our goal is to make the planning process as straightforward and transparent as possible while giving your application the strongest chance of success.

If you are considering a project and would like expert guidance, Laurence Associates is here to help you move forward with confidence.
