Planning Permission Secured for Padstow Conservation Area Outbuildings
Householder Planning Permission has been secured by Laurence Associates for the construction of replacement outbuildings within the Padstow Conservation Area and the National Landscape.
The proposed site consisted of a disused, dilapidated shed. Planners and architects at Laurence Associates worked together to produce a contemporary replacement with careful consideration of the site’s sensitive location and constraints. Laurence Associates’ planning team conducted a heritage impact assessment, referencing the Padstow Conservation Area Statement (1996), and concluded that the proposed design and development would enhance the setting of the site, the Padstow Conservation Area, and the neighbouring Grade II Listed properties.
The resulting development will increase the utility of the previously disused shed, providing launderette facilities as well as an additional sauna building.
The proposal received support from the local town council, and the planning officer concluded that the development would pose no significant harm to the site’s setting.
If you or anybody you know is interested in exploring a similar proposal or would like guidance through any stage of the planning process, Laurence Associates is home to a highly skilled team of planners and architects who would be happy to provide you with the advice that you need.
