Contemporary Roof Extension in Cornwall | Sustainable Residential Design

Contemporary Architecture Rooted in the Cornish Landscape

Our latest residential proposal demonstrates how thoughtful contemporary design can sensitively enhance an existing home while responding to its unique setting.

The proposed first floor extension introduces new accommodation within the roof space, creating additional living space without significantly altering the building’s established character. Timber clad dormers on the northern elevation have been carefully positioned to capture views across the surrounding landscape, while rooflights to the south provide daylight while avoiding overlooking concerns.

Existing window openings have been simplified and enlarged, allowing greater levels of natural light into the home and improving the overall appearance of the elevations. These interventions create brighter, more connected internal spaces while enhancing the architectural character of the dwelling.

The proposal delivers a practical and sustainable family home that responds directly to the needs of our clients. Through careful detailing, material selection and consideration of the surrounding context, the design demonstrates how contemporary architecture can sit comfortably within Cornwall’s distinctive landscape.

The result is a high-quality living environment that respects its setting while providing a modern home designed for the future.
