Appeal Success: Caravan Site Approved in Cornwall
Planning permission has recently been granted on appeal for the use of land as a caravan site within the World Heritage Site near Camborne.
This is a case where the fallback position of permitted development rights was key to the success of the proposal. In this case, the site currently operates under permitted development utilising Certification from one of the exempted recreational organisations.
The appeal Inspector accepted our argument that the impacts of the proposal when compared to the fallback were negligible. In fact, greater control could be placed on the proposal, as conditions could be imposed, which they cannot under the permitted development approach.
The result is that our client can now operate his site without reliance on an external organisation and has the long-term benefit of being able to operate under his own terms.
If you’re navigating a planning challenge or unsure how permitted development rights could support your proposal, it’s always worth exploring your options. A strong fallback argument can make a real difference. Get in touch to see how we can help you achieve the best possible outcome for your site.
