Our architectural team was instructed by St Aubyn Estates to design a single home for an infill site in Marazion, understood to be one of the oldest towns in the country, in the far west of Cornwall.

Flanked by residential developments on either side, the L-shaped site had fallen into disrepair and was overgrown with vegetation.

The traditional, high quality design uses natural stonework, timber sash windows,  granite lintels and feature glazing, in keeping with the area’s indigenous housing. The house is proportionate to the size of the site and sits comfortably within its surroundings, enjoying views towards Mount’s Bay from the front elevation and a rural vista to the rear.

Planning permission was granted in October 2015 and detailed construction drawings were prepared for building regulations approval.
