Rural Enterprise – Helping Rural Business Flourish

With Cornwall being a rural county, naturally, rural enterprise and business are plentiful and have in many ways been key to the success of the County. Here at Laurence Associates, this something we seek to support and encourage.

Laurence Associates has worked with numerous clients to make their rural business dreams a reality. Indeed, to evidence this case, we are happy to share that we have recently been successful in securing planning consent for a new rural fencing enterprise within the East of the county.

As with a lot of planning issues, nothing is ever black and white. The Cornwall Local Plan and national guidance set out within the National Planning Policy Framework encourage new and the extension of rural enterprises. However, this is caveated by other key considerations such as character impact and sustainability. Gaining consent for new rural enterprise is therefore a fine balance.

At Laurence Associates, we provide a multidisciplinary approach, combining the skills of our town planners with those of our architects and landscape architects, to provide development proposals that are well informed from all sides. This in turn ensures our schemes combine high-quality designs with robust planning arguments to provide the best chance of successful outcomes.

If you are looking to set up or extend your own rural enterprise, we would love to hear from you to understand how we can assist.
