The Port William
St Austell Brewery tasked us with designing a new single storey restaurant extension at the Port William pub at Trebarwith Strand on the north Cornish coast.
The existing lean-to kitchen adjacent to the main building was replaced with a new restaurant seating area designed to take advantage of the panoramic sea views. A new kitchen was built within the pub, requiring extensive remodelling of the internal layout to satisfy a detailed set of conditions imposed by the local planning authority.
The linear extension is topped with a natural slate mono-pitch roof, recessed into the bank behind, and has full-height sliding bi-folding aluminium doors which open the length of the new building. The restaurant features mono pitch trusses with vaulted ceilings, a natural stonework rear wall, solid oak flooring, and woodburner.
We also project-managed the build, assisting the Quantity Surveyors in the tender process, providing contract administration and site supervision through to completion. The project came in on time and within budget.
