Sandy Acres
Sandy Acres is a unique collection of luxury eco timber frame beach lodges nestled amongst the undulating sand dunes at Hayle, near St. Ives in West Cornwall.
Originally a caravan and chalet park, it sits within an environmentally sensitive location, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). After protracted pre-application negotiations with Natural England and the town council, we obtained planning consent on behalf of our clients to build eight bespoke holiday units.
The Scandinavian-style, wooden-clad lodges, constructed from lightweight eco timber frame, were designed to respect and complement their sandy surroundings, standing on stilts to protect the natural habitat and encourage regeneration of the sand dunes beneath.
