Higher Penmayne Farm
A revised scheme for nine three-bedroomed holiday units at Higher Penmayne Farm on the southern side of Rock in north Cornwall. Planning consent was originally granted in 2015, but some modest changes in the design necessitated a fresh planning application.
Higher Penmayne Farm is a five-acre camping and caravan site which sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s within walking distance of Rock Beach and Porthilly Cove and a short drive from Daymer Bay and Polzeath.
The prefabricated modular timber-clad holiday lodges were designed by Bodmin-based Modbox Spaces, which owns the site, and boast environmentally-friendly low energy lighting and heating, high performance insulation, and double glazing. The design and energy efficiency of the units far exceeds that of those in the original planning permission and ensures that the new scheme delivers environmental gains.
Planning consent was granted by Cornwall Council in February 2018.
