Planning Approval for Sauna in Protected Landscape

We first gained consent for a summerhouse for the client in 2023. The property is in an elevated position within the National Landscape and sits on a sloping gradient with significant level changes which has been terraced due to the site topography.

Recently, the client sought planning permission themselves to make revisions to the scheme, amending the plans to a sauna with a reduced footprint. They unfortunately ran into issues during the planning process, turning to us for help when their application was refused.

We stepped in to assist and progressed a new application which we prepared quickly due to the client’s planned timescales for the construction of the sauna.  We engaged positively with the case officer throughout, leading to a decision within the 8-week timeframe.

Whilst this was a minor application, we were very pleased to assist our client in getting a positive decision.

We are always happy to have an informal discussion about making revisions to schemes to ensure that the most appropriate application route is chosen.

Thinking about making changes to an approved scheme or unsure which planning route is right for you? Get in touch for an informal conversation, we’re always happy to help you move forward with confidence.
