Our clients operated a caravan and camping site on the edge of Carbis Bay, near St Ives, and wanted to redevelop the whole site to provide a higher standard form of accommodation with bespoke facilities. We were initially instructed to undertake a detailed constraints assessment, with our Lanndscape Architects undertaking a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA), followed by detailed master planning and comprehensive design solutions for both the chalet units and the amenities building. We prepared a detailed scheme for over 120 holiday chalets, new owner accommodation and a sizeable contemporary amenities building with sedum roof, which includes a swimming pool, gym facilities and restaurant.
Planning permission was granted for this multi-million pound scheme, following initial community consultation and detailed negotiations with Cornwall Council. Our clients then sold the site to developers, who have now built and operate the site successfully.
